One thing I might suggest is changing the controls for rotating the ship so that pitch is W and S, yaw is A and D like you have it, and forwards and backwards use the pinky and/or thumb (so CTRL and space or CTRL and Shift) Using R and F feels somewhat unnatural and leaves the thumb and pinky fingers not doing anything.
